About Us

The aim of this site is to discuss various aspects of ‘Australian Teenage Pop Culture’; by exploring the impact it has on teenage attitudes and values; how they gain access to different mediums; what media content they are accessing, whether parents are able to monitor what their teenagers are accessing; the pros and cons of the effect of media and the speed and ease of access granted by technology to teenagers; examine top selling and accessed teenage pop culture lists; explore the central themes revolving around teenage culture in today’s society and much more.

The site also intends to examine these topics by utilising several different mediums, including original digital photographs, video, power point presentations, hyperlinks, audio and written blogs to compliment ‘Australian Teenage Pop Culture’ news stories written by the site’s three creators – Bec, Matt and Diana.

Bec:

Bec is in her second year of journalism, studying at Monash University. She lives in Melbourne Australia, and is very interested in pursuing a career in journalism, particularly in print media. Bec a is very keen on music, film, reading, and writing. She is also very interested in art, and wishes to study fine arts after her degree in journlaism.

Matt:

Matt is a second year Journalism student, intending to major in Journalism as part of his Bachelor of Arts Degree at Monash University. He is an on-campus student, based at the Caulfield campus. When Matt is not working on this blog, his time consists of interests such as writing, playing and listening to music, reading, going to live gigs, playing basketball, and hanging out with friends. Matt hopes to obtain a job as a working journalist in either print, radio, or online.

Diana:

Diana is a Second Year Monash University Journalism student from Perth. She is studying via Distance Education, as she is currently deployed to the Solomon Islands as a Signals Officer with the Australian Army. Diana’s interests include creative writing, travelling, reading, and fashion. She hopes to work in print journalism and publish a novel one day.
